It was exactly one year ago today that we found out we were pregnant. I can still remember the day like it was yesterday. I got up early that day to have my lab work done by 7am so we could be the results as fast as possible. I tried my best to stay busy that day. Eric and I were the only ones that knew we would be finding out (we still wanted to surprise family and friends). I was at the library by our house and my phone rang. It was Debbie the nurse at our Drs office. I walked outside so I could talk to her and she said, "Leah, your pregnant!" I almost passed out I was so excited. I called Eric who was anxiously waiting to hear from me. We decided to wait for him to come home so we could tell everyone together. He came home early. We called Eric's Mom and told her the news. She was so excited she couldn't believe it. I called my sister's phone because everyone in my family was together for Luke's baptism. Lara put me on speaker phone and I gave everyone the news. I remember talking to Brynlee and telling her we were going to have a baby. I asked her if she thought it was going to be a boy or a girl. She said she didn't know, then she said, "Well what is it? A boy or a girl". She thought we knew :)
I just can't believe that was a year ago. What a year it has been. We couldn't be happier than we are right now. Dane is such an amazing little boy. He was worth the wait. We are both still so amazed with the process that we went through. Since he was an Invitro baby we saw him when he was just a tiny embryo. He was so tiny Eric had to see him through a microscope. Now he is a perfect baby boy. What a gift. We are so grateful for him. We are grateful for all our friend and family that help us and supported us. We know there were so many people praying for us and we are so thankful for that.

It's amazing how fast time goes, especially once kids are in the mix! What a neat picture too, that you saw Dane as an embryo, that isn't something that many people can say they've seen! We're so happy to have Dane in the family!!!
(and ps.. you may have lucked out with a great baby, but he sure lucked out with two amazing parents!!)

So sweet! I love the picture of the little cells forming at five days--unbelievable! It's totally a miracle the way we can create babies. I agree--an amazing and humbling blessing. :)
