A fun 4th of July Weekend in Idaho

Last Thursday we left LAX and headed for Idaho Falls. We got up early Thursday morning to give ourselves plenty of time. We parked our car at the Van Nuys FlyAway and boarded the bus at 7:45am. Of course we hit traffic but it took a little longer than we thought. We got to our terminal at 8:45 (not too bad) and checked in for our flight. When we first got to the terminal we noticed that there was a really long line that made its way all the way outside. We made our way to security where a nice lady told us that we needed to get in line. We looked around and saw a line of about 6 people and got behind them. In no time we were on our way. Once we got to the top I realized that all those people outside were in the SECURITY LINE! We totally cut! People in line started saying things like, "can you believe we have been in this line for 2 hours?" There is no way we would have made it on our flight if we had to wait in the line. Thank goodness no one noticed we cut, we felt bad but so grateful we made our flight. As it was we got to our gate and boarded the plane.

We made it into Idaho falls at 1pm (there is nothing greater than a direct flight from LAX to IF). When we came down the escalator we were greeted by the Trospers and Eric's parents. The kids ran right into our arms. We miss them so much and it is so great to know that they still love us even though we live so far away. Madisyn informed me that Hayden is not very nice but then he let me know that he is nice when I am around. I guess we need to be around alot more!

Thursday night there was a baby shower for me. It was at Anjie's house and it was so much fun. I had some of my fantastic Idaho friends along with my wonderful family. Eric's Aunt Peggy and Grandma Pat came up from Utah. It was great to see them. We played fun games, visited, and opened presents. Dane is all set up with some really cute things. Thanks again for the great shower. After the guest left Kristen, Megan, Cherie, Anjie, Peggy and I headed to see ECLIPSE! WE LOVED IT!


Friday Megan did my hair. I feel like my old self again with a brand new style. Thanks again Megan. I am so lucky to have such a talented sister! After doing some shopping with Peggy, Cherie, and Pat we met up with the Kieth and Eric and the Trospers for ice cream at Reeds dairy. I had black Cherry in a waffle cone...soooo yummy! That night Megan, Macoy and Andy came over and we played "You Say" (I think that was what it was called). We had so much fun and laughed so hard!

Saturday was a packed day! We headed into IF to see the car show (I ran into some old students) and we met up with Nathan, Anjie, her Parents, and the girls. After that Kieth, Eric and I headed to the numbered streets to look for Sonny (Megan's dog...she was lost). We didn't find her but when we had all given up hope someone called Megan's phone and said that they had her. :)

Then we headed back to Shelley for a HUGE BBQ. I mean huge. Everyone and there dogs were there! We ate lots of food, and had a blast. Brad and Kim and their 3 boys were there which was great. At the BBQ there was a bounce house and pony rides. What more could you ask for?? Lets hope that in a few years we can do it again and Dane will get a chance. After the BBQ we headed into IF to watch the fireworks. They were of course....AMAZING! After the fireworks we headed back into Shelley to Hayden and Greg could let off a few fireworks. Hayden is so funny!


Thought I would post this old friend for Eric. This is his Chevelle that he has at his parents house. One day he is going to fix it up. He can't wait to get started on it! The race is one. Whoever builds a shop first gets it. Will it end up in California or Idaho???

When we first got there Keith asked if I was craving anything. I told him that really the only thing I was craving was his fried chicken! He made it Sunday afternoon for our send off meal. It was yummy! Thanks again Keith!

Sunday we packed up our stuff and said our goodbyes. It is always so hard to leave some place that you love so much. We had a great time with everyone and wish that we could have stayed longer. With this new direct flight we just might have to come out more often.
