I am still blogging!

Well hello my blogging friends. I can't believe how long it has been since I last blogged. I used to be so good. It seems like so much has gone on and yet....nothing. Last week was crazy. Eric moved all of our stuff into a storage shed since we STILL don't know where we are going to be. We have applied for jobs everywhere but we just aren't having any luck.

One of our prospects is Ridgecest. A few weeks ago we made a road trip out to Ridgecrest to check out the area.

They have a Navy base out there that hires alot of engineers....this might be our future home someday. Like I said earlier we would take ANY job no matter where it is. We met some really great people there and it would be an adventure. We will see.

Last week was a hard week. My plan was to go with Eric to move our stuff and to see my FIRST class graduate (go class of 2009) but at the last minute I felt like I should stay. I seem to have a doctors appointment every week so I thought that I should stay close (I did end up at the doctors and it wasn't good!) .

Well it turned out to be a good thing that I stayed. We have a neighbor named John who has been battling cancer for a long time. He was told by his doctors that there wasn't anything more that he could do and he was dying. Last Wednesday I spent the night over at his house to help with his medicine. It was a ruff night. He went from talking and laughing to slipping away. I have always had a hard time with death because I just don't like the idea of knowing that someone I love is "leaving" me. This experience completely changed me. It was so obvious to see that bodies just can't stay around forever. I of course am sad that John has left us but he left behind such a legacy of kindness and love. I felt very privileged to be there with him during his last hours. I also have to give a plug for Hospice. They are such a wonderful program that I really knew nothing about. They offer such a wonderful gift.

I seem to spend most of my time out in the garden. After teaching greenhouse for three years it is so nice to be able to be outside all day working with plants.

Sadly my beautiful garden is under attack from BUGS! I hate bugs! Can you guess what plant that is next to the corn? My nephew Luke helped me plant them. I can't believe how nice they look.

Well wouldn't it be nice if the next time I blog it is to tell you that Eric and I have found jobs? We will see. I hope so.

I'm glad to know you are still alive! :) Oh how I wish my husband could hook you up with a job here at the naval shipyard. They went and hired so many engineers from Idaho and Utah this winter, that who knows when they will be hiring again. But wouldn't that be cool if we got to live close to each other?! Maybe then you could teach me a little bit about greenhouses. We built one this year, but I am surprised to see that so many of our plants have not come up. I am going to go replant this week, and hope for the best. I hope you get your bugs under control because your garden looks great!

So not to pry, but why are you at the dr all the time? Just curious. I love your garden, I would love any hints as to what plants and fruit trees work in texas!
