Five Years!

Well today is our 5th anniversary. I can't believe how fast time flies. Eric and I met in April 2003. I was living with Eric's sister Megan up in Rexburg. When I first met Megan she told me that she had a brother that was serving a mission in San Luis Obispo (next town over from Los Osos). She said that I should date him when he got back. After our first date in May I went back to CA for a few weeks. We talked on the phone every night for hours. It only took a few weeks after I got back to Idaho for us to decide that we wanted to get married. Since we were both in school we decided that the end of August would be the best time. We decided to get married in the Salt Lake Temple since we thought that it would be a good meeting place for Family from CA, WA and our family in ID.

We had beautiful weather in Salt Lake. The day before the wedding is rained and rained. We were a little worried and very relieved to see the sun.
Eric surprised me with tickets to see Celine Dion in Vegas...which was such a surprise that I screamed bloody murder. It was the best concert of my life. We went on a fun cruise out of LA for our honeymoon. We almost missed the reception when we couldn't get off the ship. They were unloading the boat by colored tags and we were one of the last to get off. My wonderful brother-in-law Mike waited hours and hours to pick us up. When we finally got off he was nowhere in sight. We had no cash...and had to get back to our car...and I didn't have my cell phone. A wonderful saintly girl have me 30 dollars to take a cab to our car. So we where off to Los Osos to get ready for the reception. We had a beautiful reception in Morro Bay. My family worked so hard...it was picture perfect. We had beautiful weather again and so we were able to take some awesome pictures on the beach.

We had a few hiccups on our way back to ID. Our car broke down about a hour from my parents house...total bill...$3400. Ouch! Now we can look back and laugh :) So here we are 5 years later. We have bought a house...both graduated from college...and have had alot of fun along the way. I feel so lucky to have found Eric (thanks Megan). He has filled my life with so much.

We are hoping that in the years to come we will be able to add children to our lives and as always have fun.

Yeah!! 5 years is a huge milestone in a marriage. If you have made to give years and havent killed eachother or havent tried to then you have an eternal marriage thats built to last!! :) Hey I am even in that picture! Congrats again!!

Yesterday I kept thinking all day there was something I was forgetting. I knew there was something significant about the 23rd of August but I couldn't think of anyone's birthday I was missing. Thank you for solving the great mystery, and congratulations on your 5 year anniversary!! You and Eric are a great couple and I am so glad to be part of your family. We miss you guys so much in Idaho, but we hope things are going well for you in California.

Congrats on your 5 years! Your stories made me laugh. Isn't it funny how "real life" seems to hit you as soon as you get married? Things like that totally hit us too, starting from day one when we thought we were going to die on the way to our honeymoon. Now we can look back and laugh at the whole situation. Those stressful moments always make for the best stories later.

Wo Wo, were did all the time go! I remember it like yesterday, stacy and I had the worst sun burns and we were miserable at the reception. But it was so beautiful, all the lights and flowers what a wonderful day, exempt for the burns. Bri and I will be married for 3 years in November, wired I know. miss you!
